Okay, he might have forgotten to kiss back in his surprise at first. At least until he feels the puff of breath against his lips, hears those words. Then, his own hands come up to wrap around Cloud's neck in turn as he clumsily pushes forward.
It's probably not the most appealing or romantic kiss, but he sure is going for it. At some point, he ends up with a hand in Cloud's hair, stroking through it in excitement as he deepens said kiss. ]
[ For the briefest of moments, when Zack doesn't kiss back, Cloud worries he's overstepped in some way. Thankfully, his concerns are quickly quelled when Zack does in fact kiss back.
It doesn't matter that it's a clumsy kiss, the eagerness can be clearly felt and that is more than enough for Cloud to feel his heart hammer in his chest. He groans low and leans into the touches through his hair and the deepening of the kiss. It all feels so damn good. He's finally getting something he's wanted for longer than he'd probably admit. ]
